Enduring the Blessings

Have you ever noticed when you step into a blessing from God, it seems that there is some form of spiritual warfare attached to it? That in the midst of receiving the blessings, you are faced with the inability to enjoy them because of the circumstances that follow.

Why is it like that?

To be completely open with you, I acknowledged that, but I never made a spiritual connection until I read in the book of Ecclesiastes. Verse two of chapter six discusses how God provides for us, yet He does not give us the opportunity to fully enjoy these blessings.

So, what does this mean? Does God not want us to enjoy the blessings He gives us according to His will? Yes and no. Behind every Christian is a story worth listening to.

A Christian’s journey is beautifully marked by the desire to guide others to Christ, not just through words, but through their lived experiences and heartfelt testimonies. Spiritual wisdom shines through in the authenticity and maturity displayed among believers. During challenging seasons, the profound connections of brotherly and sisterly love in Christ become even more evident and impactful. It is the “but God” stories that resonate deeply with those who struggle, offering a reassuring reminder that they are truly “not alone” in their difficult times.

Learned Blessings

What does it mean for us as Christians when we navigate through a challenging season and find ourselves in a blessing from God? This experience can evoke a multitude of emotions, and it greatly varies depending on each individual’s journey and circumstances. Just as we ponder, “What is God teaching me?” during our trials, we should reflect on this question as we embrace our blessings. It’s all too easy to hurry from one gift to the next, and in doing so, we risk overlooking the profound lessons and the larger picture that God has beautifully woven into our lives.

See, the lessons learned through our trials often transform into a precious gift of hope amidst our blessings. It’s truly wonderful to know that God desires for us to relish the blessings He bestows upon us! However, it’s essential to recognize that these blessings can unintentionally become idols in our lives. This brings us to a significant question: how can we thoughtfully use the blessings we receive to give back to God?

Wait, are we really meant to return our blessings to God? Yes, everything in our lives is to be lovingly surrendered to Him. When we entrust our marriage to God, what valuable lessons can we learn together, and how might our journey inspire those around us? When we place our children in His care, what teachings can flow from that act of faith, both for us and for others? When we dedicate our work to God, how can that influence our perspectives and the lives of those we touch? Our blessings represent the harvest of seeds planted in the past. To truly bear fruit, we must share that harvest, creating opportunities for others to sow their own seeds. For when their time arrives to navigate their own seasons, they, too, can experience the abundant harvest that faith brings.

Let me share something with you. It’s completely understandable to want to rush to the end of a season, especially when we’re faced with challenges amidst the blessings. Have you ever taken a moment to reflect on how God has thoughtfully accounted for every part—the beginning, middle, and end—of each season in our lives? Each phase carries a beautiful spiritual significance that nurtures our growing faith. During my quiet time with God, I came across a devotion that touched my heart, speaking about the importance of abiding in Him. It reminded me that when we truly dwell in His presence, everything God has woven into our lives becomes part of our testimony. He gently guides us through our trials and rejoices with us in our blessings. Often, after enduring a season, we suddenly realize how God was actively at work, both for us and through us. However, when we struggle and forget to abide in Him, we can lose that precious intimacy with God during challenging times—moments that are truly meant to strengthen our faith.

So, as I conclude my reflections, I want to share this reminder with you: in your journey through the blessings and struggles of life, keep your eyes on Jesus. He is always there to lovingly hold your hand, guiding you through each moment, no matter how tough it can get. And just as importantly, He rejoices with you in the blessings that grace your life, reflecting His deep care for you.
